I enjoy amateur photography. If you came here looking for my picture albums, they are in Noah's Photo Gallery. I was originally inspired and somewhat educated by Phillip Greenspun's photo.net site. Lately, however, I mostly take pictures of Bells of Ireland's wedding and event flower arrangements, since I'm married to the designer and owner. Her work is featured in pictures at the Bells of Ireland arrangement portfolio. She even won New England's Best Florist for 2004!
But besides flower photography, there are lots of other pictures that I've taken over the last few years in my photo album. Some of my favorites include Birr Castle in Ireland, my wife's cat Katie, my parents' dog Martha, and various landscapes, including some snowy trees and a waterfall.
I work in VLSI verification. So far, I have worked on verification of microprocessors. If you employ that sort of person, here is my resume. After college, I started at Sun Microsystems, where I worked from 1999 to 2004 on the UltraSPARC V project that was cancelled. Then, 3300 of my closest friends and I accepted a severance package, and I began work at AMD (Advanced Micro Devices), along with 60 of my Sun co-workers. In other news, The Inquirer comments on Sun engineers being hired by AMD, and The Boston Globe comments on AMD's progress and its Boston Design Center, as well as the first major AMD product with contributions from the new Boston team.
I have an interest in Linux and primarily use Fedora, which is sponsored by RedHat.
I enjoy reading about new technical ideas, and like Robert X Cringely's weekly columns. He now has Nerd TV up and running as well. For current (technical) events, I like The Register and The Inquirer, and once in a while, Slashdot.
Also, the current weather in the northeast.
